It was great to hear all the comments from our current and future clients and folks just passing by. “Is it real ice?” (Yes, it’s real.) “Wow that’s COOL…!” Every day brought a couple thousand pounds of fresh ice and a brand new sculpture with a different design. (Apologies to the exhibitors whose employees strayed from their own booths to watch our sculptor during setup!)
HIMSS attracts solution vendors of every kind, and LRS offers documented & supported application interfaces with most of the leading EMR software packages, including Epic, Cerner, Soarian, and more. LRS® technical experts answered numerous questions about customers’ unique print requirements and explained how our VSPA product extends the capabilities of our software to virtual desktops and application virtualization environments.
Secure pull printing was once again a hot topic, and our booth staff showed how hospitals could protect confidential healthcare documents by requiring users to authenticate at a device before printing. LRS staff demonstrated our MFPsecure® pull printing solution by releasing queued print jobs with a simple tap of a proximity badge on a device-mounted card reader. This live “tap & go” print demo, along with our PageCenterX/Satellite downtime reporting demo, offered attendees a chance to see our products up close and personal.
Other current and future customers dropped by to chat or just take a picture in our unique booth. Customer Don Fosen of Edward-Elmhurst Health (seen in the white shirt and glasses above) explained to visitors how his organization was using our VPSX solution in their own Epic environment.
Many of our awesome partners also stopped in to say hello like the secure printing hardware folks from RFIdeas, seen below.
So what did we learn? In a venue with 42,000 attendees over three days, it’s not hard to meet a lot of people. Just add three tons of ice, hundreds of squeezable polar bear and penguin toys, and a set of products with a 492% ROI. Some, but not all, of us also learned when to walk away from a gaming table. But that’s a story for a different time.
The soles of our shoes are worn thin from all the trekking we did that week, but we weren’t too worn out to wait in line and secure a booth for HIMSS 2017. We reserved a great spot with several times the floor space… plenty of room for fun displays, product demos, and even more great customer conversations. See you next year in sunny Orlando!
